From 1 December 2020 I will start a new collaboration with the Institute of Applied Physics “Nello Carrara” IFAC – CNR in Florence within the framework of the OptiMed-Water project, “Forstering sustainable water management for the economic growth and sustainability of the Mediterranean region” for the following topic: “Collection and processing of SAR and multi / hyperspectral data of soil and vegetation with satellite sensors on the Project test areas. Implementation of algorithms for the estimation of soil and vegetation parameters from satellite data.
In the frame of the consultancy service for the “preparation of GIS maps and cartographic atlas for the Governorates of Fayoum, Minya and Matrouh to support the monitoring and evaluation of the program”, of the European Union Joint Rural Development Program (EU-JRDP) in Egypt, I will collaborate with the company Agristudio srl of Florence as GIS Coordinator.
The CEFA MaTerrE (Marketing Territorial pour l’emploi) project has as its intervention area north-western Tunisia, a region characterized by a high rate of unemployment, and with sectors with great potential, namely agriculture, tourism, crafts, not yet adequately exploited . CEFA’s action aims to create employment opportunities for the most excluded people, through alternative, responsible and supportive tourism; also strengthening endogenous economic practices, increasing the capacity of the population and improving the profitability of community tourism and agricultural and artisanal production.
