In the frame of the consultancy service for the “preparation of GIS maps and cartographic atlas for the Governorates of Fayoum, Minya and Matrouh to support the monitoring and evaluation of the program”, of the European Union Joint Rural Development Program (EU-JRDP) in Egypt, I will collaborate with the company Agristudio srl of Florence as GIS Coordinator.
The activities will take place both in Egypt and in Italy and will concern the diagnostics of existing data and their conversion into formats usable in a GIS, training sessions in the field of Geomatics, preparation of digital files and supervision of data collection activities in the field, import into GIS environment and subsequent analysis in order to derive thematic maps and atlas previously agreed with the Project Management Unit in Cairo. All activities, both training and collection, data analysis and cartographic production, were carried out with open tools to ensure full usability by local partners, even after consulting, without purchasing or renewing licenses.
